Stewart Glad To Be Back

26 October 2016

Jordan Stewart has declared himself thrilled to be back after making his long-awaited comeback from injury on Tuesday.

The talented attacker got over an hour’s worth of game time under his belt during the Development Squad’s 4-1 defeat to Exeter City yesterday following a long injury lay-off.

And Stewart was over the moon to have finally kicked a ball in competitive anger again and is now targeting a return to first-team action.

“It has been a long eight or nine weeks but I thought it was going to be worse to be fair,” he told swindontownfc.co.uk.

“I just had to keep my head down and then take every week as it came. It is good to be back playing and hopefully I’ll be injury free for the rest of the year.

“I was a bit rusty but it is just about getting minutes in those games. You want to try and play well but it was my first game back so I didn’t want to put too much pressure on myself.

“I just wanted to get back out there and play and hopefully that’s one step closer to being back in the first-team.

“I will just have to take each week as it comes and listen to what the coaches and the physio has to say. I’m sure they will have a plan in place and I’ll just follow that.

“I want to get back as soon as I can.

“I did miss it so it is good to be back and hopefully I can stay injury free.”
