Thomas And Barry Available For AFC Wimbledon Game

14 October 2016

Both Conor Thomas and Brad Barry are fit and available for Town’s trip to AFC Wimbledon on Saturday (3pm Kick-Off).

Thomas took a heavy blow to his hip during the 1-0 defeat to Bolton Wanderers last time out, but could be involved in tomorrow’s matchday squad after responding well to treatment this week.

Barry has been out of action since suffering a hamstring injury last month but came through a 60-minute runout against Peterborough United in the Central League on Tuesday unscathed.

And both players could well be involved in Saturday’s Sky Bet League One encounter away at AFC Wimbledon in some way shape or form.

“Bradley is still a little bit off match fitness but he’ll be able to return to the squad,” Town Head Coach Luke Williams told swindontownfc.co.uk.

“Conor is progressing very well. He took a very heavy knock but it wasn’t anything more than just bruising.

“We expect Conor to be able to feature.”

However, tomorrow’s game will come too soon for Lloyd Jones while Jon Obika is still in the early stages of his recovery from injury.

“We’ve got no timescale on Jon but he’s just going through his treatment each day and doing as much cardiovascular work as possible without loading the injury,” Williams added.

“Hopefully we will get a timescale soon and we will know when he’s likely to return.

“Lloyd won’t feature. We were hoping that Lloyd would be able to come through and he trained but he had to pull out of training.

“It is something that he’s had before so the best thing now is to thoroughly look into that and try to make sure that he recovers without there being a possibility of a reoccurrence."
