Thomas Looking Forward To Wanderers Test

8 October 2016

Conor Thomas is expecting a tough and physical battle with Bolton Wanderers this afternoon at The County Ground (1pm Kick-Off).

The Trotters haven’t recorded a victory in the Sky Bet League One since August but are able to boast a wealth of experience and quality amongst their ranks.

Wanderers are also known for their physical approach under new manager Phil Parkinson and Thomas has stressed that Town must stand up to their guests today if they are to keep the three points at SN1.

“You look at the players they’ve got and they are a big, strong, physical team,” he told swindontownfc.co.uk.

“They’ve got a lot of experience in there so it is going to be a really tough game and we will have to be on top form to come out with the win.

“I’ve played against Phil Parkinson’s teams a couple of times and it is always a battle and you’ve only got to look at their line-up to see how big some of their players are.

“We know it is going to be a physical battle but we’ve got to stand up to that and win the battle before we can implement our style of play.

“Hopefully that is enough to come out with the three points.

“They are a massive club so they’ve got some good players and you always want to be playing against the best players in the league.

“Some of their players will be feeling that they should be playing in the Championship and they’ve got a lot of experience, so it will be good for us to test ourselves against them and see where we are.

“Hopefully we can get the win.”
