Thompson Looking For The Right Response Against Scunthorpe

28 October 2016

Nathan Thompson feels last weekend’s defeat to Walsall was just a minor blip and is determined to put that right against Scunthorpe United tomorrow (3pm Kick-Off).

“I didn’t see the Walsall result coming – we were beaten by two pieces of brilliance,” he told swindontownfc.co.uk.

“It was a great first goal and then the second one was just as good for me. We’re seeing now that if you switch off for those split seconds then you get punished.

“It is frustrating because I thought we really turned a corner and to slip back into a defeat like that is annoying.

“There were positive signs that we can take from the game but as a whole we knew it wasn’t good enough.

“We didn’t take our chances, we were a little bit lacklustre and we were punished.

“We now go to Scunthorpe who are absolutely flying and the pressure is on us to now go and come back with three points.

“We’ve got a good recent away record and I can’t see why we can’t return to winning ways.

“You look at the league and anyone can beat anyone. It was only last week we were talking about Rochdale who were unbeaten in seven and no one expected us to win that, so we’ll go and prove people wrong.

“It is important we do and we need to respond in the right way.”
