Furlong Confident Of Town's Chances Against Northampton

27 September 2016

Town defender Darnell Furlong is looking forward to a reunion with former club Northampton Town this evening (7.45pm Kick-Off).

The 20-year-old joined the Cobblers on loan during the 2015/16 season, making ten appearances in total.

Furlong has impressed during his short time at SN1 and the youngster is expecting a tough test against his former employers but is confident Town have what it takes to secure all three points.

“There are still a few names there from when I was there and there are some nice guys there – it is going to be the second time I’ve played against them since I left there,” he told swindontownfc.co.uk.

“I’m just going to go into it and try and win the game.

“It is going to be a good game.

“We are going to do what we believe in and I’m sure that will be enough.”

Furlong has 10 outings under his belt for Town so far this term and feels he has already learnt a lot.

“I definitely have learnt a lot. I’ve only been here a short while but I have started to learn already and I feel I’ve learnt a lot already,” he added.

“I hope there is more to come.

“You come here and you want to gain games and you want to gain experience - I feel like I’m doing that all the time.”
