Luke Williams Provides Injury Update Ahead Of Oxford

9 September 2016

Town Head Coach Luke Williams has provided an injury update ahead of tomorrow’s game away at Oxford United…

Jon Obika and Raphael Rossi-Branco:

“They’ve come through the game (against Royal Wootton Bassett Town FC on Monday) fine and they are very close to being able to do everything to play 90 minutes and train every day.

“They are very close to that.

“Both boys are prepared for whatever role they need to play in the game."

Yaser Kasim:

“He is back and he was in with the Physio this morning – we are going to see afterwards what condition he is in.

“We can then make a decision on whether he’ll train today and if so whether or not he’ll feature in the game.

“He’s without doubt a very important player, we know that, but we have also learnt with Yaser that he does do a huge amount of travelling with the national team and we have to take that into consideration.

“That’s why he’s now being assessed and we’ll make a decision once we can see what condition he’s in.”

Jordan Stewart:

“Jordan is being assessed but it (the Oxford game) might be a bit too soon for him. He picked something up just before he left for international duty so he went out there and trained, but it flared up again so he’s probably pushing it for tomorrow.”

Jordan Young:

“Jordan has still got an injury concern so he won’t be up to featuring in the squad.”

On The Squad In General:

“Other than that we’re very healthy, very strong and there are plenty of options for us.”
