Murray Looking Forward To Potential Home Bow

13 September 2016

Midfielder Sean Murray is hoping to make his home debut for Town this evening and is looking to show what he’s all about.

There is live football at SN1 tonight with Chelsea’s Development Side in town for the Robins’ opening game of the revamped Checkatrade Trophy.

Town are expected to make changes for this evening’s game (7.45pm Kick-Off), and that could well mean a first start and a first outing at The County Ground for Murray.

“I’m very excited about the possibility and it is what I’ve been waiting for,” he told swindontownfc.co.uk.

“I’ve been here a couple of weeks now but there’s only been two games and I came on in one and the last one I didn’t.

“But to hopefully get a start tonight would be great, especially at home because the fans have really welcomed me.

“It will be good for me and hopefully I can give a good performance.

“I just want to get out there, the pitch is great and hopefully it will be a good day.

“My actual debut didn’t go to plan but hopefully if I can get a goal tonight then that will soon be forgotten about.”

When asked about this evening's opposition, Murray admitted that it was difficult to predict just what to expect from Chelsea's Development Side.

“I’m not sure what they will be like. We’ve watched a few clips and they are young and energetic,” he added.

“They are not used to playing in a proper league and in men’s football where we fight for three points every weekend and it means everything.

“It will be a test for them but I think it will be a different test for us compared to playing in the league.”
