Murray Raring To Go For Posh Test

2 September 2016

New Town recruit Sean Murray has declared himself fit and ready to feature against Peterborough United on Saturday if called upon.

The attacking midfielder, who arrived at SN1 on a free transfer from Watford on Transfer Deadline Day, could make his Town debut in front of the cameras at the ABAX Stadium tomorrow (12.15pm Kick-Off).

With Yaser Kasim away on international duty with Iraq this weekend, there is a place up for grabs in midfield for the Robins.

And, whether he starts or is handed a chance to come off the bench and impress, Murray will be ready to seize his opportunity with both hands.

“If I’m called upon I’ll be ready,” he told swindontownfc.co.uk.

“I’ve been playing games for Watford so I’ll be ready fitness wise.

“It is on TV so of course everybody wants to play, but to have my debut and maybe get a chance to play on TV would be brilliant.”

Murray was Town’s only arrival on Deadline Day and the talented youngster revealed that it was an easy decision to make The County Ground his new home.

“It was quite a long day (on Deadline Day) but it was well worth it,” he continued.

“There wasn’t any selling because I’ve seen Swindon play a few times and if there was a club I would go to permanently then it would have been Swindon.

“I’ve heard good things about the club and the fact that it was Swindon made it a whole lot easier.”

Finally, when asked about his goals this season both on a personal and collective level, Murray was quick to respond.

“My personal goal is to play as many games as possible and score as many goals,” he said.

“But as a team, with the players we’ve got, there is no reason why we can’t get promoted this season.

“Fans will be happy to come and watch our style of play and I think promotion isn’t unlikely.”
