Jamie Sendles-White got a full 90 minutes under his belt for Northern Ireland U21s this evening but was unable to prevent his country from falling to a 2-0 defeat to Macedonia U21s.
The defender was handed a start in Skopje after coming off the bench to impress during the Green and White Army’s 1-0 loss to Iceland on Friday.
However, Sendles-White found himself on the losing side again as Northern Ireland crashed to a costly defeat in the UEFA European U21 Championship qualifiers.
It was the visitors who got off to a bright start at the National Arena Filip 1 II, with Shayne Lavery going close midway through the first-half.
However, it was the hosts who took a slender lead in at the break thanks to an unfortunate Josh Doherty own goal.
There was torrential downpour after the interval as both teams tried their best to adapt to the conditions, but it was Macedonia who fared better in the rain as Kire Markoski struck late on to inflict a second straight defeat on Northern Ireland U21s in a matter of days.
Sendles-White will now return to The County Ground later this week and will hope to be involved in Saturday’s Derby Day clash away at Oxford United.
