Town Ladies In Action Against Charlton Athletic Today

Swindon Town Ladies host Charlton Athletic this afternoon in the FA Women’s Premier League Southern Section.


The Town visited Charlton on the opening day of the season for their first-ever Premier League game and were beaten by four goals to nil. Since then the London side have won both of their other games by beating C&K Basildon 6-0 and Shanklin 8-0 in the League Cup.


Charlton sit top of the league and after finishing as runners-up to Brighton and Hove Albion last term, will be looking to be putting in a serious challenge for the title this season.


Town Ladies Manager, Steve Robertson said: “It was good to get the first win last week but this week we know that we will be tested to the limit.


“Having already played them away we know that they are a good all-round side who score goals but don’t concede, which is not a bad recipe for success.


“I hope that we are learning from every game and the hard work on the training ground will begin to pay-off.”

Sunday’s game will be played at Shrivenham FC, Barrington Park, Shrivenham, SN6 8BJ and will kick-off at 2pm.
