Linganzi Hoping For Further Success Against Carlisle

Midfielder Looking For Another Fruitful Trip To Brunton Park

3 August 2017

Brunton Park holds plenty of special memories for Amine Linganzi and he’s hoping to create more this weekend with Town.

Part of the Portsmouth side that stormed to the Sky Bet League Two Title last season, the powerful midfielder scored a superb goal as his side defeated Carlisle United 3-0 on their own patch in February 2017.

Now preparing to head north as a Red, Linganzi can’t wait to get the 2017/18 campaign underway and he’s eying further success against the Cumbrians on Saturday.

“I’m really excited about the new season,” he told swindontownfc.co.uk exclusively.

“I have come from Portsmouth where we won League Two last season and I have a massive hunger to repeat that success again.

“We’ve got a good group, we’re working really hard and I hope it is going to be a successful season.

“I’m really, really excited about Saturday.

“Portsmouth beat Carlisle 3-0 at their place last season and I scored a goal, so in my mind playing there will be like I’m playing at home.

“I really hope as a group that we do well on Saturday. It is not going to be easy because Carlisle have got a good side, but there’s no logic to football.

“You see some sides who are in the Play-Offs but then the next season they are fighting relegation, so for me there is no logic in football.

“We will go there to put them under pressure and that’s the plan.

“Hopefully we can get a win and the pre-season was massive for us in order for everyone to get to know each other.

“I know we can do something big this season.”

Having got a full pre-season under his belt this summer, something he was unable to do last year, Linganzi is now fighting fit and raring to go for the new campaign.

“Last summer I didn’t have a pre-season and I could feel that come the end of the season, I felt tired physically,” he added.

“It is a different story this summer though, I’ve had a strong pre-season and I feel fit and I will do my maximum to give 100% all season.”
