Brophy - Exeter A Good Test

Winger Looks Ahead To Home Opener

12 August 2017

James Brophy believes today’s home opener against Exeter City will prove to be a good test.

We’ve done a lot of travelling in the first two games so it feels like the season is already well underway,” he told swindontownfc.co.uk exclusively.

“We’re looking forward to being back in-front of our home crowd with a new squad and hopefully we can show the kind of football the manager has brought into the club.

“We’re not a League Two club so the new boys will be in for a nice surprise when they see the fans, the pitch and the stadium itself.

“Every league is getting more competitive year on year and every week is going to be a hard game.

“It is nice to test ourselves early on against the teams that were up there in League Two last season and it will be good to carry on the momentum from last weekend at Carlisle and the performance against Norwich.

“We know what football Exeter like to play, they like to play out from the back but they also like to be direct as well.

“They use some width to benefit them and it will be a good test for us.

“We know their threats but it is more about us concentrating on ourselves and we know what we do well and we need to use that to our advantage.

“Saying that, we know their strengths and we need to be aware of them.

“It is our first home game and we need to be aggressive quickly to get the fans on our side.”
