Gaffer Excited By Knoyle Potential

Flitcroft Thrilled With Latest Recruit

3 August 2017

Town Boss Dave Flitcroft can’t wait to get down to work with and develop his latest signing, Kyle Knoyle.

The talented right-back became the latest new player to arrive at SN1 after putting pen to paper on a contract on Wednesday following his release by West Ham United.

Having been capped by England at U18 level, Knoyle has plenty of potential and Flitcroft is looking forward to tapping into that.

“He’s got a very good footballing pedigree and he’s a different type of profile to Ben Purkiss,” he told swindontownfc.co.uk exclusively.

“It also gives us an opportunity now to work with Tom Smith as a midfield player, so that one signing has given me the chance to slide Ben Purkiss across and develop Tom as a central midfielder, which will help his development.

“Kyle is a very athletic full-back, a very dynamic full-back and that’s what he’ll give us.

“I’m excited to work with Kyle to develop him and I’ve had a lot of success when it comes to developing young players.

“I see this as another opportunity to develop another young full-back who has represented England at youth level.

“Kyle will play games for us but he’s still in that development phase and we’ve got a good leadership group now within the dressing room to bring in players that we’ve already got.

“He adds to the young players we’ve already got with the likes of Ellis Iandolo, Tom Smith, Scott Twine, Jordan Young and Will Henry.

“The leadership group are helping Futch (Ben Futcher) and myself bring those players through.”

Flitcroft has now brought ten fresh faces through the door at The County Ground this summer and he’s thrilled with the balance of his squad heading into the new season.

“I’m delighted with the balance of what we’ve got and it was very important that I got players in early,” he added.

“It was also important that I gave the players who were already at the club the chance to show me their quality as well and that’s been something that I’ve been delighted with.

“It took them a while to understand what I want but I’ve been delighted by their attitude.”
