Gaffer On Captain/Vice Captain Appointments

Flitcroft Reveals Thinking Behind Handing Top Roles To Lancashire & Dunne

4 August 2017

Swindon Town announced Olly Lancashire as their new Club Captain and James Dunne as their new Vice Captain earlier today.

Manager Dave Flitcroft has given his reaction exclusively to swindontownfc.co.uk on those two appointments…

Flitcroft On Olly Lancashire Becoming Captain:

“I’m delighted to announce Olly Lancashire as our new Captain.

“He leads by example day in and day out and he’s someone that the young players can really look up to.

“He has previous experience of the role, having captained Rochdale to promotion, and he carries himself in an extremely professional manner.

“He’s also well respected in the dressing room.

“His knowledge, game understanding and organisational skills on the pitch were the deciding factors in making Olly the new Skipper.”

Flitcroft On James Dunne Becoming Vice-Captain:

“James Dunne will be our Vice-Captain this season and, like Olly, he is massively respected within the group.

“He has a great enthusiasm for football and he is a natural leader who will demand the very best out of everyone around him.

“His character is infectious and he drives training standards on and off the pitch every day.”
