Swindon Town couldn’t open their 2017/18 Checkatrade Trophy campaign with a win after going down 3-2 to West Ham United’s U21’s on Tuesday evening.
Martin Samuelsen gave the visitors the lead at The County Ground but Luke Norris converted from the penalty spot to even things up after the break.
United did restore their lead thanks to Moses Makasi, although that strike was quickly cancelled out by Paul Mullin’s third goal of the season.
However, it was West Ham who had the last laugh as Dan Kemp reacted quickest to prod home the winner after Toni Martinez’s shot bounced back off the post.
