Hussey Wants To Keep Good Start Going At Morecambe

Defender Eyeing Three Points This Saturday

17 August 2017

Chris Hussey is confident Town can extend their unbeaten start to the 2017/18 Sky Bet League Two campaign on Saturday.

The Reds head to Morecambe this weekend and the left-back is aiming to help his side make it seven points from a possible nine after the opening three games of the new season.

“I expect them to work hard, I don’t know much about them but any League Two team will be up and at us and they will work hard,” he told swindontownfc.co.uk exclusively.

“If we match that with our quality then I’m sure we will come away with three points.

“That’s the aim anyway.

“We went to Carlisle and won, drew at home to Exeter and if we do get a result on Saturday then that will be seven points from nine and I think the gaffer would have taken that at the beginning of the season.

“Carlisle have been together for a few years, Exeter have been together for a couple of years and we have been together for six weeks yet we got two good results against those teams.

“I like to think that with a bit more time you can see what we are trying to do and we’ve done quite well.

“It has been a decent start.”

“If we match that with our quality then I’m sure we will come away with three points - that’s the aim anyway."

Hussey is enjoying having different forward options to work with and he’s been pleased with his personal start to life at SN1 having racked up three assists already.

“Harry Smith and Luke Norris are different to Kaiyne Woolery and Paul Mullin – they are big aggressive players and Kaiyne and Paul are both very lively, so we’ve got a nice blend,” he added.

“I knew what I could do before I came here and I did it for a little bit at Sheffield United and I did it for a long time at Bury.

“We have had success and I’ve got three assists so far. Every game we are getting a chance, we are having a goal disallowed and we are getting closer.

“My corners could be a bit better but in time that will come.”
