INJURY UPDATE: Knoyle Set For Scan

The Latest Team News Ahead Of Our Trip To Carlisle

3 August 2017

Town will open their Sky Bet League Two campaign this weekend without the services of Kyle Knoyle.

The right-back, who was officially announced as a Swindon player on Wednesday, suffered a training ground injury earlier in the week and will now undergo a scan this evening to determine the full extent of the damage.

“Kyle Knoyle has suffered an unfortunate injury,” Town Boss Dave Flitcroft told members of the media at his pre-Carlisle United press conference earlier today.

“The big guy, Harry Smith came down on him with a lot of power and Kyle’s knee just locked and the weight just came down on him.

“He’s going to be out and we’re not sure how long he’ll be out for.

“It is just one of those unfortunate ones that you see happen in training and you just hope that it is not a serious injury.

“He’s got a scan tonight at 5pm and he’s in a brace at the minute.

“I’m gutted but it is just a part of football that we’ve all got to get on with.

“You can’t do anything about it and it gives someone else an opportunity.

“That’s the way injuries are.”
