Town Boss Dave Flitcroft has provided an update on the fitness of both Luke Norris and Donal McDermott ahead of tonight’s trip to Norwich City in the First Round of the Carabao Cup (7.45pm Kick-Off).
Norris was forced off with a shoulder injury moments after opening the scoring in the win against Carlisle United on Saturday, while Donal missed that outing due to a strained ligament in his foot.
Although tonight’s game will come too soon for the pair, both are making good progress in their respective recoveries.
“It is about settling it down with Luke Norris,” Flitcroft told the local press.
“We couldn’t get him a scan on Sunday night but he was due to have one last night, so that will tell us what damage has been done.
“There is some soreness in there but he’s a tough boy and these sorts of injuries are about pain threshold.
“As long as there isn’t any damage in there then it is about how we can try and get Luke out there.
“It is a difficult one to comment on without getting the expertise from the specialist.
“We’re delighted with Donal’s progress.
“He will come with us to Norwich but he won’t be involved. We’ll get a session into him in the gym in the afternoon and then a football specific session on the pitch tonight.
“It is good news with Donal.”
