Luke Norris feels Town are in the right hands under Dave Flitcroft and is confident of enjoying a successful season.
The Reds have made a solid start to their 2017/18 Sky Bet League Two campaign under the new gaffer, which continues at Morecambe this weekend.
And Norris, who has impressed so far this term, is happy with how things are going so far both on a personal and collective front.
“I’m taking on what the manager wants from me and I feel like I’m doing what he’s asking of me - that’s all I can do really,” he said.
“The main man to please is him and he’s got great ideas. Our league form so far has been good, we’re moving in the right direction and with the boss here we’re going to have a really good chance this season.
“The way the club has recruited suits my way and we’ve got some fantastic players. The squad in my eyes is probably stronger than last year and this side in League One last year probably would have done better.
“That is in the past now, we are where we are and it is up to us now to kick on.”

Town face another long away trip to Morecambe this Saturday, although the prospect of hours spent on a coach isn’t something that worries Norris and his team-mates.
“We’ve all been in football for a few years now and you get used to it. It isn’t like we travel up in a minibus, we’ve got a lovely coach, we have fun with some cards and we get plenty of sleep in so it isn’t cramped and we’re looked after very well,” he added.
“We stay in nice places and the club do everything for us on long away days. We’ve got a lot of travelling this season and it is very key because it does help massively.
“We’re doing all we can.”
