Promotion The Name Of The Game For Woolery

New Recruit Setting His Sights High With Town

Kaiyne Woolery is targeting a second successive promotion as he aims to help fire Town to an immediate return to the Sky Bet League One.

The striker grabbed a brace in the National League Play-Off Final back in May, helping Forest Green Rovers clinch an historic promotion to the EFL.

Having sealed a switch to The County Ground for £350,000 on Monday from Wigan Athletic, Woolery now wants to play his part in the Reds’ push for promotion from League Two.

“I’m delighted to sign for such a big club,” he told iFollow STFC exclusively.

“It has been going on for a few weeks now so I’m really glad it is all sorted.

“The biggest attraction for me was how much the manager wanted me. He’s been calling me a lot and he’s come up to see me as well.

“He told me his plans and the way that I fit into his plans and that really attracted me.

“If you go to any club you want to be challenging at the top and that’s another reason why I came here.

“I won promotion last year and my aim this season is to help the team and get another one.

“Words can’t describe scoring twice for Forest Green Rovers in the Play-Off Final last season.

“It is a moment nobody can take away from me and I’m hoping for a lot more of them throughout my career, so hopefully I can do it again and help Swindon get promotion this season.”

Woolery is blessed with blistering pace and a keen eye for goal and the striker went on to outline his best qualities.

“I like to describe myself as a striker who runs in-behind, who has pace and I like to say I’m quite exciting,” he added.

“I like to stretch teams and give other people more space. Hopefully I can help the team.

“I’m just happy to be part of the squad now. I’m going to work hard and hopefully reap the rewards.”
