TEAM NEWS: Town Name Six Debutants

Find Out We Are Lining Up This Afternoon

5 August 2017

Swindon Town have named six debutants in their team to face Carlisle United at Brunton Park this afternoon.

In what is his first competitive game in charge of the Reds, Dave Flitcroft has handed competitive bows to Ben Purkiss, Olly Lancashire, Chris Hussey, James Dunne, Amine Linganzi and Paul Mullin.

There are also places on the substitutes bench for summer signings Chris Robertson and Harry Smith.

Lawrence Vigouroux, who enjoyed a fine 2016/17 campaign on a personal level, takes his place between the sticks behind a back-four of Purkiss, Lancashire, Dion Conroy and Hussey.

Dunne and Linganzi will provide plenty of industry in the engine room while John Goddard and James Brophy, both regulars last term, will be relied upon to provide plenty of attacking flair this afternoon.

Both Luke Norris and Paul Mullin enjoyed fruitful pre-season campaigns and the pair have been tasked with leading the line against the Cumbrians.
