Accrington Stanley V Swindon Town - Three Things To Look Out For

Key Storylines To Focus On Ahead Of Saturday's Game

7 December 2017

Swindon Town are back on the road on Saturday when they make the long trip to Accrington Stanley in the Sky Bet League Two (3pm Kick-Off).

We've picked out three key storylines to focus on...

WE MEET AGAIN:

The Reds haven't locked horns with Accrington since February 2012, when a Paul Benson brace was enough to wrap up a 2-0 victory for Paulo Di Canio's men and move them a step closer to the League Two Title.

Town were also victorious on their last visit to The Wham Stadium with efforts from Jake Jervis and Christian Montano securing a 2-0 success in October 2011.

Let's hope for a similar result this Saturday!

SELECTION HEADACHES:

Town have been hit by a raft of injuries in recent weeks and they could again be without a few key members this weekend.

Luke Norris, Paul Mullin and Amine Linganzi were all forced off during the defeat to Forest Green Rovers on Tuesday and will be assessed before Saturday.

Dave Flitcroft will also be keeping his fingers crossed that Chris Hussey and Donal McDermott will be able to prove their fitness in time for the trip to The Wham Stadium.

TIME TO BOUNCE BACK:

It has been a difficult couple of weeks for Town who have lost their last four games in addition to being knocked out of two cup competitions.

However, their seven-game unbeaten run prior to this slump shows the quality of the squad and a win Saturday would be the perfect tonic with the busy Christmas period now upon us.

It would also send a clear message to the rest of the league that we mean business with some big games coming up.
