Swindon Town Football Club have released the following statement following the events at the weekend.
Due to unforeseen circumstances our Sky Bet League Two fixture against Accrington Stanley was postponed on Saturday.
During the morning leading up to the postponement we were in constant communication with Accrington to ensure our fans were updated with news on whether the fixture would go ahead.
Unfortunately, due to the conditions deteriorating further, the decision was taken to postpone the fixture.
We would like to thank all 281 Town fans who made the journey to Accrington and we applaud your loyalty and continued support.
We are now working with Accrington and the EFL to reschedule the fixture and as soon as we have this confirmed this will be communicated via our normal channels.
