FACT FILE: Everything You Need To Know About Rohan Ince

2 February 2017

Rohan Ince became Town’s second signing of Transfer Deadline Day after signing on loan from Brighton & Hove Albion and have rounded up the best facts about the powerful midfielder…

1992 in Whitechapel, Rohan Greg Ince was born on November 8

- He stands at an imposing 6ft 3in tall.

- The 24-year-old is an incredibly athletic and strong defensive midfielder who isn’t afraid to get stuck in.

- Rohan actually started out as a centre-back but was later converted into a holding midfield player.

- Aged just seven-years old, Ince joined Chelsea’s Academy and went on to sign professional terms in July 2010.

- However, he failed to make the grade at Stamford Bridge and had a brief loan spell with Yeovil Town, making his Football League debut in August 2012.

- Ince joined Brighton in February 2013 following a successful trial and signed an 18-month contract with the Development Squad, where he worked with Town Head Coach Luke Williams.

- His progress was rapid and he made his full league debut for the Seagulls during a 2-1 defeat to Derby County in August 2013, just days after starting his first competitive game for the club against Newport County in the League Cup.

- Following a change in position, Ince flourished under then Boss Oscar Garcia and was crowned Brighton’s Young Player of the Year in his first season.

- Rohan has history with Town having scored a sensational goal against the Reds for the Seagulls during a League Cup tie in 2014.

- Ince is highly-rated by Brighton and has made over 70 appearances for the Championship side.

- And his form hasn’t gone unnoticed with Newcastle, West Brom and Liverpool having all watched the midfielder in the last couple of years.

- Off the pitch, Ince is the third cousin of former Manchester United and England midfielder Paul Ince, and the nephew of ex-Brighton and Crystal Palace player Eric Young.

- Rohan spent a short spell on loan with Fulham in 2016, scoring once in ten outings for the London side.

- However, the enforcer will now spend the remainder of the 2016/17 campaign on loan at The County Ground and will bring plenty of quality and experience to the Town dressing room.

- Ince will wear shirt number 23 during his time at SN1.
