Town First-Team Coach Ross Embleton will oversee his Development Side’s Central League fixture away at Newport County today (1:30pm Kick-Off), and he’s outlined what he expects to see from the players who have been given the chance to feature.
“I’m looking forward to the game,” he told swindontownfc.co.uk.
“Last week was a very good performance both individually and collectively against an experienced Cheltenham team, so we’ll be looking for the boys to repeat that performance against Newport today.
“We want to get a message across to the boys who realistically are going to play in the first-team as to what the expectations are in terms of what happens when they become part of the first-team and the things we’re looking for from them.
“We also want to add to the education of the younger players and give them that experience of playing with the more established pros.
“Then, with the younger players, we want to see if they have taken on the information over the last few games and see if they can step up and give themselves a little bit more of an opportunity to earn a contract for next season.”
