Iandolo Counting Down The Days Until His Return

30 January 2017

Ellis Iandolo feels he can now see the light at the end of the tunnel and can’t wait to finally kick a ball in competitive anger again.

The talented attacker has been out of action since December with a persistent injury but has now resumed light training and is edging ever closer to a return.

“It has been a long time and it has been seven or so weeks since I last kicked a ball properly, so I’m just happy to get out of the gym and get back on the training pitch with the boys,” he told swindontownfc.co.uk.

“I’ve been a bit more involved and I feel like I’m close now with my fitness so hopefully everything goes well and I’ll be back flying soon.

“Just being out of the gym environment where you are on your own has been good and being back with the boys again gives you a lot of confidence and the belief that you are close.

“Hopefully it is no longer than another week or two before things are back to how they were before.

“I just want to help the team so whether that is on the bench, coming on or trying to help out where I can – it is just important for me that we really push on as a team and I do my part in that.”

Even though he may not be involved on Sunday, Iandolo is still looking forward to being inside The County Ground for Town’s Derby Day clash against Oxford United.

“Every time we play Oxford it is a fierce game so it will be a good atmosphere and hopefully we can get three points that will get our season rolling again,” he concluded.
