Norris Reflects On Bolton Win And Looks Ahead To Posh Test

19 January 2017

Luke Norris felt Town’s superb 2-1 victory away at Bolton Wanderers last weekend was a long time in the making and he is now determined to help his side extend their unbeaten start to 2017 this weekend.

Goals from Ben Gladwin and Yaser Kasim guided the Reds to a memorable win against The Trotters and Norris praised the character of his team-mates for the way they bounced back from going a goal down.

“A good away performance like that was a long time coming and it was very much needed with other results not going our way,” he exclusively told swindontownfc.co.uk.

“It just shows what we’re capable of when we’re playing well.

“It was nice to celebrate the winner with the away fans and Yaser (Kasim) had a chance before where he could have had a goal and he probably finished the harder one, so it was great to be at that end and it was a great feeling for the squad.

“There have been a lot of games this season where we’ve been 0-0 at half-time and then second-half we’ve conceded one, two and three goals in quick succession.

“When we conceded early on at Bolton in the second-half maybe people thought it was going to be one of those games again, but we did terrifically well to get back into the game and towards the end it was a very open game.

“I felt every time we went forward it looked like we were going to have a chance to score and against a side like Bolton, who have been very good at home, it was terrific to get the result.”

Norris is now focused on taking on Peterborough United at SN1 on Saturday (3pm Kick-Off) and the striker wants to put on a show for the Town faithful.

“Every game is going to be difficult in League One because everyone is fighting for points and there is no easy game,” he continued.

“Peterborough are a very good side but they are coming here and we’ve got to go out with an attacking performance and please the fans.

“Peterborough have always had good attacking sides and they’ve got players now like Marcus Maddison who will come in off the right and shoot from anywhere, but they will be very wary of our own attacking qualities.

“If we can get the win on Saturday then hopefully it can take the momentum into the next few weeks where we’ve got some very good and tough games coming up.

“Hopefully we can keep picking three points up.”
