Town have added to their attacking options with the signing of Chelsea striker Islam Feruz this evening.
The pacey striker has joined the Reds on loan from the Premier League leaders until the end of the 2016/17 campaign, subject to EFL approval.
Arriving at Stamford Bridge from Celtic in the summer of 2011, the attacker scored six goals in eight games as Chelsea’s U18s stormed to victory in the FA Youth Cup.
Feruz bagged 12 goals in 21 outings the following season, form which led to an U21s debut against Arsenal in December 2011.
He then hit 18 goals in just 28 games during the 2012/13 campaign and finished as the joint top goalscorer in the NextGen Series with seven strikes to his name.
Feruz has had loan spells with the likes of OFI Crete, managed at that stage by former AC Milan midfielder Gennaro Gattuso, Blackpool and Hibernian before spending the first part of this season in Belgium with Royal Mouscron.
The young talent can play out wide or in a number ten role in addition to leading the line up front, and has represented Scotland at U16, U17, U19, U20 and U21 level.
Keep an eye out across our website and social media channels on Thursday for an exclusive interview with Islam Feruz.
