Town have added to their ranks this evening with the signing of Chelsea midfielder Charlie Colkett.
The youngster has put pen to paper on a deal that will see him remain at The County Ground on loan until the end of the 2016/17 campaign, subject to EFL approval.
Colkett is regarded as an exciting young talent and impressed for Bristol Rovers during a fruitful loan spell earlier this season, scoring three goals in sixteen outings in all competitions.
Although yet to make his professional debut for Chelsea, the 20-year-old was named on the bench for a Premier League game against Swansea City in April 2016 and signed a new three-year deal later that month.
He was a key figure for the U18s throughout the 2013/14 campaign, captaining his side to glory in the FA Youth Cup and scoring in the Fourth Round, both Semi-Final legs and in the Final against Arsenal.
More success followed the following term as Colkett helped Chelsea’s U21s taste success in both the Youth Cup and the UEFA Youth League, before captaining his team to a second successive title in the latter competition during the 2015/16 campaign.
Colkett has also represented England at U16, U17, U18 and U19 level, while he scored on his debut for the U20s in November 2015.
