Flitcroft Huge Factor In Town Move For Linganzi

New Midfielder Excited About The Future At SN1

3 July 2017

Town’s latest arrival can’t wait to seize his chance with both hands after being attracted to The County Ground by Dave Flitcroft.

Amine Linganzi became the Reds’ sixth signing of the summer last Thursday, joining on a free transfer following his release by Portsmouth.

The powerful midfielder is another key signing for the club and the opportunity to work with Flitcroft was too good to turn down.

“It is a great opportunity to play for the best club in League Two,” Linganzi told swindontownfc.co.uk exclusively.

“I hope we are going to have a successful season and the aim is to go to League One.

“The gaffer did everything to get me here, I had many chats with him over the summer and I said to myself that I needed to work with him.

“I had a feeling that it was the time to come and work with him and progress in my career.

“It will be really tough this season but the most important thing is to keep our identity, play football and play with a smile.

“That’s the key to go forward this season.”

Dave Flitcroft has moved quickly in the transfer market to beef up his midfield and Linganzi explained what qualities he’ll bring to the Town engine room.

“My biggest strength is my power and I know it is quite hard to move me when I go body-to-body,” he added.

“Because I’ve been through different things in my career, mentally I’m quite strong as well and that’s the most important factor for any player.

“I can play football as well and I’ll try to bring physicality while being the best technically as well.

“I’m 27 and now is the time to kick on.

“I’m hungry because I’ve lost time with bad injuries and I feel like I’m 20-years-old in my head, so I’ll make sure I work hard in training and give 200% on the pitch.

“I’m really excited to work with the manager and my new team-mates.”
