Ellis Iandolo is well on the road to recovery and is confident a return to action isn’t too far away.
Despite going under the knife less than a week ago, the attacker was back on the training pitch putting in the hard graft on Tuesday.
Iandolo was flown out to Germany to have an operation on both of his groins but, with the procedure a huge success, the 19-year-old is expected to be back in the thick of the action sooner rather than later.
“It was an op that I probably needed doing a bit sooner,” he told swindontownfc.co.uk exclusively.
“I’ve been in pain for the last few months now and I’ve rested over the summer but the more work I’ve done to try and get ready for pre-season, the more the pain has started to reoccur.
“I had it reassessed and it turned out that I needed an op on both of my groins, but luckily it is not too much of a recovery time so hopefully it won’t be long before I’m back in training and trying to get fit for the new season.
“It is very pleasing to be back doing some rehab work already and it is quite lucky because the surgeon I was originally going to see said that the recovery time would be between four and six weeks.
“However, the club flew me out to Germany to see one of the best surgeons in the world and to have a recovery time of only ten days is top drawer from the club.
“Hopefully it won’t be too long before I’m back in full training and playing games again.

“Pre-season is never nice but it has got to be done and the team needs to be fit and I need to be fit for the new season.”
Although he is training separately from the group at the minute due to his injury, Iandolo feels there is a real buzz around the club at the moment.
“I’ve only been back a few days now and it is hard but it is good to be around the boys and the new gaffer,” he added.
“I’ve got a good feeling about this season.
“The boys that have come in have been really easy to gel with and I feel that the team is coming together nicely now.”
