Brophy Excited About New Era At Town

Winger Out To Prove A Point Next Season

25 June 2017

James Brophy can’t wait to get to work under Dave Flitcroft and he’s looking forward to proving a point in 2017/18.

The winger was part of the Town side that suffered relegation from the Sky Bet League One last season and, having had a positive chat with the new gaffer last week, he’s now itching to get back to work.

“I met the gaffer and the new assistant for the first time the other day and they seem really positive,” he told swindontownfc.co.uk exclusively.

“He’s just asking for the minimum from players which is to work hard for 90 minutes and to work hard every day you come into training, be professional and improve every day.

“He’s not asking for a lot and he seems very positive, which gives everyone a more positive vibe as a result.

“I’m looking forward to getting back into pre-season, improving and then hopefully having a good campaign.

“Last season was disappointing to say the least and the players that are still here this season will definitely have a point to prove and something to owe to the fans.

“Our aim is to get back to League One as quick as possible so the players that are still here from last season need to give that extra 20 percent to the fans to show that we do want to be back there.

“It is also a chance for some fresh faces to come in and help us improve as a team and get us back to where we belong.”
