Swindon Town will kick-off the 2017/18 Sky Bet League Two season with a long trip to Carlisle United.
The Reds will get life underway in the fourth tier of English football at Brunton Park on Saturday 5th August, after the 2017/18 fixtures were revealed earlier this morning.
Dave Flitcroft’s first home game in charge will be against Exeter City the following week, which comes just days after the Carabao Cup First Round clash against Norwich City.
Town will then round off the month of August with a trip to Morecambe (22nd) and a home clash against Crawley Town (26th).
Forest Green Rovers are the newcomers to the EFL and the Robins will be heading to the New Lawn for their first-ever league fixture against Mark Cooper’s side on Saturday 23rd September.
There is an extra fixture in the Christmas schedule to contend with this season and Swindon will open the festive period away at Crewe Alexandra on Saturday 23rd December, before hosting Luton Town at The County Ground on Boxing Day.
Notts County will then be the visitors to SN1 on Saturday 30th December, which will be the final game of 2017, and Town’s first assignment of 2018 will be away at Barnet on New Year’s Day.
Town round off the 2017/18 campaign at home to Accrington Stanley on Saturday 5th May, coming off the back of a run-in which sees them face the the likes of Carlisle United, Newport County, Grimsby Town and Colchester United in the final weeks of the season.
Please note, all fixture dates are subject to change.
