Ross Embleton is looking forward to today’s Central League clash against Exeter City as he looks to give a number of players some valuable minutes.
Town’s Development squad host the Grecians at Swindon Supermarine’s Webbs’ Wood Stadium this afternoon (1pm Kick-Off), which has come at just the right time according to Embleton.
“These are very important games to the players who are not currently in and around the first-team squad,” he told swindontownfc.co.uk.
“With the squad being as big as it is, we needed to make sure that there was football available for the players who aren’t involved as much.
“We had a steady run of games early in the New Year which was good and now we’ve had a little break we look forward to getting back to it today and we’ll look to give the boys who are missing out at the moments the opportunity to go and play.”
And Embleton revealed the first-team players who will be involved against Exeter this afternoon.
“The likes of Dion Conroy and Conor Thomas will feature, as will Ellis Iandolo who is still working hard to get back to where he was earlier in the season and he’s showed signs recently that he’s getting there,” he added.
“Jesse Starkey hasn’t quite broken into the team yet but his attitude has been excellent in all the games that he’s been involved in with me so far.
“Jordan Stewart will also get some more minutes and we sometimes forget that these are massive games for Will Henry.
“He sits patiently, he trains professionally every day and he is striving to become a top goalkeeper.
“These opportunities to go and play today are just as important to him as all the things he does with England and when he trains with Lawrence Vigouroux.
“We look for different motives and different outcomes from these games for all the different individuals that are in the team.”
