Ince Thrilled After Millwall Success

26 March 2017

Rohan Ince was on cloud nine in the wake of Town’s superb 1-0 victory over Millwall at The County Ground on Saturday.

The Reds kept The Lions quiet for large chunks of the game and they dominated second-half proceedings.

And their patience was rewarded right at the death with Conor Thomas keeping his cool to tuck home a dramatic late winner, leaving Ince thrilled with his side’s efforts.

“It was a great feeling to get that win and even better to get a goal at the end like that,” he told swindontownfc.co.uk exclusively.

“I’m really happy for Conor Thomas because he hasn’t been playing as much as he should have been but he comes in and trains well every day and it was good for him to get the goal.

“It was a perfect time to get a goal and it meant a lot to us and to the fans. I’m really happy for him.

“To dominate Millwall like that who were seventh in the league was a great performance from us and to get a goal at the end was even better.

“It meant a lot to the players and the fans to beat a good team like Millwall.

“They used the wind to their favour in the first-half so every kick was going miles over us and they looked like they could have scored through that.

“But that’s all they had and we showed our composure and dominance – we were the better team in the second-half.

“Steve Morison and Lee Gregory have scored a lot of goals between them this season so to keep a clean sheet was a good effort from us.”

And Ince produced yet another dominant display in the middle of the park yesterday, picking up his fourth Man of the Match Award in just five home games since joining the club.

“It is good to go home with the Man of the Match and my mum is really pleased with me when I take them home, so I’m really happy that I keep getting voted as Man of the Match,” he added.

“I’m playing well and that’s what I want to do as well as help Swindon as much as I can.”
