INJURY UPDATE: Ajose And Colkett In Contention For Vale Clash

10 March 2017

Town have been handed multiple boosts on the injury front ahead of this weekend's must-win clash against Port Vale.

Luke Williams’ side head to Vale Park tomorrow (3pm Kick-Off) in search of a vital three points and their cause could be aided by the returns of Nicky Ajose and Charlie Colkett.

Both players missed the 1-0 defeat to Chesterfield last weekend because of injury but the pair returned to full training in the latter stages of this week and are in contention for tomorrow’s game.

Ben Gladwin is also fit enough to feature after shaking off a minor knock, while Fankaty Dabo is available for selection again following a short spell out of action due to a hamstring injury.

“They all trained today so, depending on whether there is any reaction in the coming hours which there often can be, they all trained today and came through training okay,” said Head Coach Luke Williams at his pre-match press conference earlier today.

“We’ll see if we feel like they are ready to take part.

“It would be a big bonus so fingers crossed that there are no reactions.”

However, Yaser Kasim, Jordan Stewart and Jermaine Hylton will all miss out tomorrow with the trio struggling with illness.

“Jermaine is still unwell and it looks like Jordan Stewart has the same problem as well,” Williams added.

“He tried to come in today to train but by the time he got to the stadium he was in a bad state and we sent him home immediately.

“Hopefully no one else has contracted anything and we hope that nobody was around this morning that could have caught anything.

“Again, Yaser has been ill and he has been recovering so he’ll come back and regain his fitness as and when he’s healthy.”
