REACTION: Embleton Gives His Verdict On Exeter Defeat

7 March 2017

Ross Embleton gave his reaction to the local press in the wake of his side’s 1-0 defeat to Exeter City in the Central League earlier today.

“Exeter had some experienced players in there and they had some good young players as well,” he said.

“We’ve played them before in this competition this season and also in the Checkatrade Trophy, so there were some familiar faces.

“I liked what Dion Conroy brought to the game and sometimes these matches can be dismissed by pros and players who feel as if though they should be involved with the first-team, but you hope the ones you put out there go out with the right attitude and Dion did that.

“I wouldn’t expect anything less of Conor Thomas to go and do the same thing and it was those two who really stood out in terms of having the right application.”

And Embleton also provided an injury update on Nicky Ajose and Charlie Colkett, who both missed the 1-0 defeat to Chesterfield on Saturday.

“Nicky and Charlie are both back with their respective clubs to get the treatment required in order to hopefully have them back in the team here,” he added.

“We haven’t seen them yet this week but hopefully we might see the pair of them back on Thursday so that we’ve got them for the weekend.”
