Ellis Iandolo declared himself thrilled to have extended his stay with Town and he’s now looking to play a big role in helping the club secure an immediate return to the Sky Bet League One next season.
The young attacker put pen to paper on a new one-year deal earlier this week after the club took up the option on his contract, and he has set his sights on helping The Reds ensure that their stay in League Two is a short one.
“I’m over the moon to be at the club for another year,” Iandolo told swindontownfc.co.uk exclusively.
“It is going to be a different experience in League Two but hopefully for me that means more game time and hopefully I can do something to get us back up in League One.
“I was obviously the new boy when I signed for the club two years ago and I was young, but next season I’m going to be 20, I would have been at the club for nearly three years so it is going to be a good chance for me to come in pre-season and try and stamp my mark and make a claim to make sure I’m starting more regularly.
“It is only a couple of weeks away before you start thinking about getting back in the gym and keeping fit and making sure that you come back sharp for pre-season.
“The aim next season is to go straight back up and that is what we’re going to strive to achieve.
“It is very important for the club that we do go straight back up. The club is massive, it obviously wasn’t a great season this year and the main target for everyone is to make sure that we go straight back up.”
