Dunne Looks Ahead To Stevenage Tie

Midfielder Previews Emirates FA Cup Second Round Clash

29 November 2017

James Dunne is eyeing a return to winning ways and progression into the Third Round of The Emirates FA Cup this weekend.

Town are in Second Round action at Stevenage on Saturday (3pm Kick-Off) and, having lost their last two games, Dunne is desperate to taste that winning feeling again.

"We want to get into the Third Round and have the chance of playing against a Premier League team or a Championship side," he told swindontownfc.co.uk exclusively.

"We've lost the last two games and we're not happy so we want to put that right, whether that is in the league or in the cup.

"We want to make sure we go into the weekend to try and get the win.

"Our away form has been good and our performances on the road have been much better than our home performances.

"We want to go on and get a big team in the Third Round but it is also about getting that winning feeling back.

"I know when I go home after a defeat that my weekend is a write-off so we want to get that winning feeling back.

"We'll work on that and we'll make sure we get it right."

And Dunne has also looked ahead to a busy and important few weeks which will see the Reds pit their wits against a number of teams also going for promotion.

"We are going to be playing against teams that are up there like Accrington Stanley and, when you play teams that are ahead of you, you don't want the gap to be extended and you want to gain points on them," he added.

"Colchester as well will be tough but if we beat them then we can open up points on them.

"We've got a few good games coming up so hopefully we can take maximum points from them."
