FA YOUTH CUP: Pryce Raring To Go For Newport Test

U18's Striker Looks Ahead To Saturday's Tie

3 November 2017

Swindon Town U18's Captain Sol Pryce is relishing the prospect of playing on the hallowed turf at The Energy Check County Ground tomorrow.

The young Reds host Newport County in the First Round of the FA Youth Cup on Saturday (1pm Kick-Off), and Pryce believes the game is the perfect chance for his team-mates to showcase their qualities.

"We've been looking forward to this competition for a long time and everyone knows about it," he told swindontownfc.co.uk.

"It is going to be good playing out at The Energy Check County Ground in-front of family and friends, it is a good occasion for the boys to get used to and hopefully we can deliver on the day.

"We know what we've got to do, we've been working on it all week and we know how they play and how they are going to set-up so hopefully we can come away with a victory.

"It is a good opportunity for us to showcase ourselves to any of the fans who want to come down and watch and see what we're about.

"It is always good to be playing here and it suits our style and how we play.

"We played Newport a couple of weeks and lost so we do owe them one and our performance wasn't good enough.

"I'm sure we will do that on Saturday.

"Hopefully we can go as far as we can. We got to the Third Round last season which was a good experience for the lads, but we want to go further than that this year."

And Pryce doesn't believe that the team's host of First-Years will need too many words of advice before kick-off tomorrow.

"They know what is expected of them and they know what Macca (Alan McLoughlin) wants and they know what I want, so I shouldn't have to give them too much advice," he added.

"If they do need it I'm there but I'm sure they will be fine on the day. It is just another game at the end of the day."

Entry tomorrow is £3 for Adults and £1 for Concessions with entry to the Legends Lounge at 11:30am.
