Flitcroft Looks Ahead To Tonight's Game

8 November 2017

Swindon Town Boss Dave Flitcroft is looking forward to tonight's Checkatrade Trophy clash against Bristol Rovers (7:45pm Kick-Off).

It is a winners take all tie at The Memorial Stadium with whoever comes out on top assured of a place in the knockout stages of the competition.

"The players want to keep pushing for more wins and we practice winning every day, it is not something that you just turn up and do," Flitcroft said.

"It has simplified it by what they've done and by what we've done. We could and we did rest several players last Tuesday and we deservedly won that game.

"We deserve to be in the position we are in to try and get through to the next round.

"That is something we'll be fully committed to doing.

"I look forward to every game and I love football. Every football match is an opportunity to win and progress and go further.

"There's an obvious difference between League One and League Two. The quality and standard of centre-halves is better and they can cope with movement.

"Your top forward players in that league, your Beckfords, your Bodins of this world, there is some quality in League One.

"But we've got an opportunity to compete eleven v eleven and commit to a potential winning performance."
