Charles-Cook - Cheltenham Defeat Was "Sickening"

Goalkeeper Reacts To Narrow Loss

8 October 2017

Reice Charles-Cook cut a frustrated figure in the wake of Town's 2-1 loss to Cheltenham Town on Saturday.

The Goalkeeper made quite the impression on his debut by saving Danny Wright's penalty after Matt Preston had restored parity, although he was powerless to prevent the striker from smashing home the winner with the last kick of the game.

"It is sickening, to be honest," he said.

"We should have at least a point based on our second-half performance.

"We were very poor in the first-half and we got that from the Gaffer, but we came out in the second-half and we were a completely different team.

"It is sickening to be beat by such a soft goal as well.

"To lose like that is pathetic really.

"We can't give silly free-kicks away like that and we've got to deal with it.

"It was a guess for the penalty. I had a bit of confidence because I saved a couple in training the other day.

"It doesn't really mean anything because we lost the game.

"To come and make my debut for a club like this is a great honour and I've just got to do everything I can for the next three games."
