Charles-Cook - Our Best Win Of The Season

Keeper Gives His Verdict On Wycombe Win

22 October 2017

Reice Charles-Cook has hailed Town's 1-0 victory over Wycombe Wanderers on Saturday as one of their best of the season.

The Reds battled the elements to claim all three points against The Chairboys at The Energy Check County Ground, with Harry Smith grabbing the only goal of the game.

And, Charles-Cook was full of praise for his team-mates for the way they dealt with the windy conditions to pick up a clean sheet and return to winning ways.

"The weather wasn't great but it was probably my favourite game I've ever played in," he said.

"That is what you call a proper smash and grab performance. We haven't had one of those this season and to get it at home, obviously our home form hasn't been the best, is a big achievement and it is probably our best win of the season.

"To stand up and be counted and deal with the threat for 45-minutes is a great achivement and we can all celebrate and be happy.

"We got the job done, it wasn't pretty but it is a clean sheet and I've never had one here so to finally get one here is a great achievement.

"Losing 1-0 on Tuesday night was demoralising but our ability to bounce back is brilliant and we just get the job done.

"We've just got to find that consistency and we know we can do it and with the games coming up I'm sure we will do it."

And Charles-Cook is now looking forward to the club's Open Day on Monday, which will allow fans the chance to get up close and personal with the players.

"We are all looking forward to it and it will be a good day for the fans," he added.

"It will be good to speak to the fans."
