INJURY UPDATE: Hussey A Doubt For Coventry Clash

Left-Back Struggling With A Knock

25 September 2017

Swindon Town look set to be without the services of Chris Hussey for tomorrow's Sky Bet League Two clash against Coventry City.

The attacking left-back, who has racked up a number of assists already this season, was forced off during the 2-0 win against Forest Green Rovers on Friday with a knock.

Town are currently working with Hussey's parent club, Sheffield United to determine the full extent of the damage and it is likely that the 28-year-old will be forced to sit out against his former employers on Tuesday evening.

"He's going for a scan tonight and we struggled to get him one over the weekend because of Sheffield United playing yesterday," Dave Flitcroft said at his pre-match press conference earlier today.

"We've been liaising with Sheffield United on the protocol and the best way to deal with Chris' injury sight, so there isn't really any defining news apart from that we are making sure we get to the bottom of it so we can rectify it as soon as possible.

"It is quite safe to say that he's probably going to be doubtful for Tuesday.

"We still haven't got to the bottom of it so without having that key detail it is best to rule him out."

However, Flitcroft is more than happy with the left-back options he has at his disposal going into tomorrow's game.

"There are other things we have looked at. We were in Saturday morning after the game and we did a session with the lads that didn't play a part in Friday night's victory," he added.

"We knew that Chris was doubtful so we've had a look at a couple of other options.

"Kyle Knoyle is back, Ellis Iandolo has been doing fantastic over the last two or three weeks as an understudy to Chris and Matty Taylor, so we've got different options.

"It is just making sure we've got the right one."
