Lancashire Looking Forward To TV Test

Town Captain Relishing Forest Green Encounter

20 September 2017

Olly Lancashire can't wait to sample an electric atmosphere when Town take on Forest Green Rovers in-front of the Sky cameras this Friday (7:45pm Kick-Off).

The Reds will be backed by over 800 fans at the New Lawn in what will be the first-ever league meeting between the two sides, and the Swindon Skipper is out to reward the travelling faithful with all three points.

"It always adds a little bit when the cameras are there and obviously it is on a Friday night and it is a new derby for the fans," he told swindontownfc.co.uk exclusively.

"It is a game we're looking forward to and we go there looking for the three points.

"The fact it is the first-ever league meeting between the two sides is probably why it has been picked to be on TV, so it is a game we're looking forward to.

"Our allocation of tickets sold out pretty quickly so I'm hoping that the Swindon fans turn up in their numbers, make it a really good atmosphere for us and hopefully we can send them home happy.

"We need to carry on what we've been doing away from home. Our form on the road has been very good away and we've had some good results on the road, so we'll be hoping for more of the same on Friday and we want to get those three points."

"It is a game we're looking forward to and we go there looking for the three points."

Town got off the mark at The County Ground on Saturday courtesy of a hard-fought 3-2 win against Stevenage, and Lancashire feels that result will give his team confidence heading into a busy few weeks.

"It was big to get that burden off our backs and you could feel the nerves in the last half-hour when the game really should have been dead and burried," he added.

"It is only natural because the lads were desperate to get that first win and now we have we can put it behind us and kick on.

"There's going to be games on Saturday-Tuesday most weeks now and the games are coming thick and fast.

"Hopefully now we can bring that good form into the home games now, keep the fans happy and keep going."
