CENTRAL LEAGUE REACTION: Macca Pleased With MK Runout

Town's Development Side Ran Out 8-2 Victors Today

30 April 2018

Alan McLoughlin was a happy man after seeing his Swindon Town development side romp to a comfortable 8-2 victory over MK Dons in the Central League earlier today.

In what was the Reds' final game of the season in the competition, a strong team ran riot with Paul Mullin (2), Kaiyne Woolery (2), Donal McDermott, Jordan Young, Sol Pryce and Jordan Edwards all getting on the scoresheet.

And, speaking to the local media in the wake of the game, McLoughlin praised his players for their efforts against what was a young MK team.

"I'm pleased with any team that scores eight and I'm always pleased with a win," he said.

"You have to look at the opposition, they weren't as strong as MK would probably normally be because they have some sort of Cup game on Thursday.

"They had some trialists in there and it was evident throughout the game.

"Once we scored it was plain sailing from there.

"I'm pleased with how we took our goals and it could have been more in the end.

"I expected us to win the game, particularly with so many first-team players out there today which really helped us.

"It was a good experience for some of the younger boys playing at The County Ground in-front of the manager.

"Some of them have done themselves proud and some of them have put a thought in his mind because it is difficult for the gaffer to see them on a regular basis.

"It was nice to finish the season with a victory today."
