Olly Lancashire and Chris Hussey will both spend today proving their fitness for tomorrow's trip to Newport County in the Sky Bet League Two (3pm Kick-Off).
Lancashire was taken off in the second-half of Town's 2-2 draw with Yeovil on Tuesday night after struggling with tight calves, whilst Hussey is due to have a scan on his groin later today.
And, speaking at his pre-match press conference earlier this morning, Town Boss Phil Brown is hopeful that he will have the duo at his disposal at Rodney Parade tomorrow.
"Luke Norris and Kellan Gordon are both unavailable for this weekend," Brown said.
"Olly Lancashire limped out of the game on Tuesday night and we've intercepted it early enough.
"He felt his calf tighten up, he's come in this morning and it is both calves as opposed to one, which suggests that the pain is coming from the back and it isn't a pull.
"Fingers crossed Olly can train today with a view to playing tomorrow.
"Chris Hussey has a little bit of stiffness in the groin but, again, if that comes back clear then he'll be available for selection tomorrow as well."
Town have been given some good news too with both Matt Preston and Ellis Iandolo expected to take part in training today.
"We've had a pleasant surprise in that Matty Preston might be on the training ground, not with a view to playing but he'll be joining in, and the same with Ellis Iandolo.
"Hopefully they will be available next week."
