Phil Brown Pre-Colchester United

Gaffer Previews Saturday's Game

27 April 2018

Swindon Town Boss Phil Brown is looking to finish the season on a high, starting with tomorrow's Sky Bet League Two fixture away at Colchester United.

The Reds now know their fate with a Play-Off place unattainable, and the aim will now be to finish this campaign with a bang in order to carry some momentum into next term.

"Whoever I do select for Saturday I have to have a level of trust in their performance," Brown said.

"Mentality takes you an awful long way in football and if you have the right mentality in your dressing room then you have a better chance of winning a game of football.

"I'll be picking a team on ability, I'll be picking a team on trust and I'll be picking a team on mentality and hopefully those three qualities combine to result in a successful weekend for Swindon Town."

And Brown went on to discuss his future at the club, with any talks about a new contract set to take place once the 2017/18 campaign has concluded.

"All I know is that the Chairman has supported me in the eight games that I've been in charge and he will support me for the last two," he added.

"The owner has put a lot of money into a season that has quite simply failed, but he wants the club to be successful and whether that involves me or not will be decided after the season finishes.

"I would like to be here and I have really enjoyed my time here.

"I've really enjoyed working with the people behind the scenes and I would like to thank them for that.

"It would be nice to finish the season with two wins and that's what my aim is."
