Nelson Shores Up The Defence!

Talented Centre-Back Arrives On Loan

2 August 2018

Swindon Town are delighted to announce the signing of Millwall defender Sid Nelson on loan until 1st January 2019.

The talented centre-back has put pen to paper on a six-month loan deal at The Energy Check County Ground, subject to FA and EFL approval.

Nelson becomes Town’s ninth signing of a very busy off-season following the arrivals of Jermaine McGlashan, Steven Alzate, Luke McCormick, Martin Smith, Elijah Adebayo, Jak McCourt, Toumani Diagouraga and Michael Doughty.

The 22-year-old began his career with Millwall and he made his first-team debut against AFC Bournemouth on 28th December 2014.

He has featured over 30 times for the Lions and has also spent time out on loan at Newport County and Yeovil Town in order to gain experience in the EFL.

Nelson also spent a short stint with Chesterfield last season and was rewarded with a new deal by Millwall at the end of the 2017/18 campaign.

The centre-back will now spend the first-half of the 2018/19 season at SN1 and he will wear the number 5 shirt.

WE WILL HAVE FULL REACTION TO SID NELSON’S SIGNING ACROSS OUR CHANNELS ON FRIDAY.
