Swindon Town Boss Dave Flitcroft spoke to the local media in the wake of our hard-fought 1-0 victory against Stevenage earlier this evening.
Here are the key points from what he had to say...
ON THE RESULT AND PERFORMANCE:
"The influence of our key players was vital tonight and we had a really good experience to the team.
"You can't come to Stevenage with a group of kids and not grind a game out.
"I wasn't expecting us to play a pure football match, it was a Tuesday night, it was a wet night and they haven't been beaten at home in quite a few months so it was always going to be a difficult encounter.
"It was a case of everyone doing their job and we had some top performances throughout the team.
"The lads ran for each other and it was a really galvanised performance.
"I'm delighted after Saturday's result and the emotion of coming from behind to win 4-3 to rock up here and be so competent.
"It was an absolute well deserved win and the lads deserve a lot of credit for that win, not just as a team but as a squad.
"They really were desperate to come here and get three points because it was an important three points.
"It was one of our games in-hand and it is no good having it unless you secure the three points and we did that very well tonight."
ON THE MENTAL ASPECT:
"There was a real mental focus and a concentration and if you switch off against these players then you will be punished.
"They've got some fantastic forward players, Matt Godden will cause you problems and he scores goals for fun.
"We stuck at it, the shape was good and I brought Purks (Ben Purkiss) in to give us a little bit more mobility out on the right and we put Lancs (Olly Lancashire) centrally and he was brilliant.
"I'm delighted with the partnership between Luke Norris and Marc Richards and they gave Stevenage a real torrid time.
"I'm delighted with the performance."
